Ali Pota’s debut movie Fire is in final production phase. The
writer cum director is giving final touches to all the things whether
it is the promo or the music or the advertisements. Music has been
an integral part of the movies in the sub continent. Many movies make
it big on the box office due to good music and melodious songs. The
main aim of most of the filmmakers is thus to attract the masses with
songs and music rather than with a good story. Even much hyped movies
like Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa, Tere Pyar Mein and Very good Dunya Very
Bad Log especially had the songs sung by Indian singers in order to
attract the masses. |

The
music in a way has become more important than the story and performance
of actors. When Asif Ali Pota was contacted to comment on the situation,
he said ‘Music is part of film. It is not something extra.
Good music is possible only when you have songs in line with the
story. Luckily enough, I worked over the story first and then chalked
out situations where I needed the help of music.

So,
I am using music and songs in order to communicate the theme and
ensure flow of the story. The song will not stop the story rather
they will keep its flow going’. While emphasising about the
very fact that good compositions can also be made in Pakistan, if
musicians are given the proper time, Asif Ali Pota said ‘Good
compositions are possible only if the musician is given proper time,
proper instrument and good poetry. I have used poetry to depict
the story. I hired two poets to write lyrics. One was Aqeel Rubi
while the other was Riaz ur Rehman Saghar.’
One thing that Asif Ali Pota is reviving in his movie is the theme
song, ‘It is a pity that such a good thing is now missing
in our stories. We are emphasising more on music and thus a good
story is missing in our stories. When we will have a story only
then we can have a theme song, because that deals with the story.

I
have used 60 musicians in recording the theme song of Fire, which
was been sung by Shabnam Majeed and Ameer Ali. I have not compromised
on the music and thus my music director Riaz ur Rehman Saghar was
given complete liberty to prepare the music according to his liking.
I am satisfied with the results'.’ |
| It
is interesting to note that two of the songs from the film are currently
running on tube and they have become very popular. One of the songs
is Ankhon Ankhon Mein that has been shot on Reema and Momi while the
other one Hote Hote Dil Huwa has been shot on Meera and Noman Masood. |
